A golden sun ship seems to float above the idyllic Unstrut Valley. The spectacular building houses the Nebra Ark Visitor Centre (Arche Nebra). It is located close to the findspot of the Nebra Sky Disc which is one of the greatest archaeological sensations of the last century. In 1999 looters discovered it on the nearby Mittelberg hill. The more than 3,600-year-old bronze disc shows the world’s oldest concrete representation of the cosmos. It has revolutionised our image of the Bronze Age.
