In 1987 the town of Langeneichstädt in Saxony-Anhalt achieved archaeological fame through the discovery of an extraordinary burial site from the Middle Neolithic period. The tomb sheltered a menhir with a dolmen goddess carved into it, along with a number of pieces of jewellery. It transports us to the world of Stone Age man and their concept of the hereafter. The condition of the stele additionally allows certain conclusions concerning magical rituals of that time.
